FROST MOUNTAIN UPDATE! ATTENTION ENTRIES!

Can you believe it? First we don’t have enough snow, now we’re getting pummeled. Weather service is calling for a nor’easter on Friday into Saturday. 10-14 inches of snow. 40 mph winds. We have decided to change our race to a one day race on Sunday. The PSDC has done this before out of safety for our dogs and mushers. In order to get our trails groomed Sunday, the order of races will change.

  • Drivers meeting at 10 am.

  • Skijor and canicross will go out at 11 am.

  • 2 Dog will follow skijor on the same course.

  • 6 dog will start at noon on the freshly groomed trail.

  • Lunch will be 1-1:30 pm

  • 4 dog will go at 1:30

  • Bikejor will start at 2 pm.

  • Awards as soon as possible after the bikers return.

We feel we can do this safely in this order.

"NO PRESENCE - NO PRESENTS" Policy:
All contestants who have won awards at PSDC events must be present at the designated awards ceremony to receive his/her awards. If the winner cannot be present, it is the award winner's responsibility to designate a person to pick up award(s) and to notify the race organizer that a substitution is being made. Our sponsors deserve this respect. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the monies not being awarded. Monies will go back into the general fund and will be added to the club's contribution the following year.

Trail Information:

6-Dog Trail (6.2 miles): The 6-dog trail has one small section that is on US Fish and Wildlife land of approximately 0.3 miles that will have possible head-on passing and with a large groomed turn around loop. The rest of the trail is on snowmobile trails that range from 8' to 14' wide. The trail has three bridges that will be crossed one driver at a time; no passing on the bridges. All three bridges will have hay bales as necessary to protect the dogs and drivers.

4-Dog & Canicross Trail (4.2 miles): The 4-dog and Canicross trail is completely on snowmobile trails. Most of this trail is 12'-14' wide and will have head on passing the entire way. The trail is approximately 2 miles long with a turn around loop at the end. Trail help will be available if needed. This class may be run in separate heats to keep the number of teams on the trail at one time to a manageable number pending the amount of entries. If necessary, this will be announced and explained on race day.

2-Dog Trail (1.9 miles): The 2-dog trail is on snowmobile trails that are a minimum of 8'-12' wide. There is a 0.6 miles section of trail on US Fish and Wildlife property that is 6'-8' wide featuring numerous turns. The Skijor, Novice, Fat Bikejor, and Junior classes run this trail, too.
