The Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club is excited to host the second annual Osceola Tug Hill Dryland Challenge! This event is on the cross country ski trails of the Osceola Tug Hill XC Ski Center.
This year's race is both ISDRA sanctioned and an IFSS World Cup accredited race. We will be following ISDRA rules.

Saturday Driver’s Meeting - 7:00 a.m.

Saturday Start Time - 7:30 a.m.

Sunday Start Time - 7:00 a.m.

MESSAGE FROM THE RACE MARSHAL:

The Osceola Tug Hill Dryland Race Officials have been doing a lot behind the scenes; we all have been watching the weather forecast and are aware the weekend may not provide the most conducive conditions for a dryland event. We have also been in constant contact over the last several days with each other. I want to assure you, dog safety is our number one priority.

Bibs will begin to be handed out at 6:30 a.m. at the large black trailer by the lone tree in the parking area. Please get your bib early! We will be moving the drivers meeting to 7:00 a.m. Saturday; the first class will run at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The drivers meeting will be very short; I will basically touch on some very important items and provide any last minute information or changes. I encourage mushers in both 6 and 4 dog classes to have dogs dropped and equipment ready prior to the drivers meeting, so that you are sure to have enough time to properly prepare. I am including the link to the ISDRA websites Dryland rules. I very STRONGLY suggest everyone take the time to visit the site and refresh yourself on all of the rules, mainly the passing rules and the required equipment. Because we are trying to ensure the safety of the dogs, I will NOT be spending time going over many rules. I also strongly suggest if you have questions ask before you are in the chute. There will be several ISDRA Directors, myself, and the Chute Judge available.

The race team and I do not expect any issues for the first one or two classes, the trail is well shaded and the night time temperatures will be chilly. If we find the temperatures are rising at a faster than anticipated rate, it may be possible we may use the shorter mileage trail for any further classes. PLEASE, pay attention for any announcements; we will make those decisions as the race progresses. I want to again stress, we are taking dog safety seriously. I know many of you have concerns, we all understand. There will also be cooling pools available for your dogs if you feel they are needed. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or Christina Gates.

One more thing; you have good dogs, you have good people, we put them all in one place and we will have one hell of a good time. See you at the race!
